Mr Logan, described by St Mary’s Principal Marian Hamill as a “champion” and an “inspiration”, passed away earlier this year.

As Chair of the school’s governing body, Mr Logan “was a real advocate of strengthening and building partnerships within the Stewartstown community”, explained Mrs Hamill.

The Jimmy Logan Memorial Trophy was presented at the annual prize giving ceremony where sports, swimming, music, language and community awards were also presented.

The trophy was awarded in recognition of the work that the school was involved in as part of the DE Signature Project - Shared Education.

As part of this programme, St Mary’s and Ballytrea PS provide opportunities for children from different community backgrounds to learn together, and was given to six year-old Amy Louise Glackin in honour of her “true warmth and openness”.
