Stole £261 worth of alcohol

A 25-year-old woman who admitted her part in two shoplifting offences has been put on probation for 12 months at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Zuzana Zigova, of Clonavon Avenue, Portadown, admitted stealing alcohol worth £127 from Asda on September 6 and alcohol valued at £134, also from Asda, on September 8 last year.

Sentencing had been adjourned from a previous court so that a pre-sentence report could be prepared.

Her solicitor said that Zigova’s husband, who was now in jail, had taken the alcohol and she had been with him.

The court was told the defendant was now living with a friend and was on a methadone programme.

District Judge Oonagh Mullan imposed the probation order telling the defendant she must engage in any programme recommended by probation.
