Stole Buckfast

A LURGAN man was fined £75 last Thursday at Craigavon court for stealing a bottle of Buckfast from a supermarket.

Gary Joseph Jones Haughian (23), of North Street, Lurgan, was also ordered to pay 6 compensation.

The court heard that on July 12 last year at Supervalu on the Portadown Road in Lurgan Haughian left without paying for a bottle of Buckfast.

A lawyer for Haughian said he had been drinking earlier in the day and had little recollection of the events. He added that Haughian had been working well with probation and addressing his alcohol problem.
