Stole portable DVD player from store
A Craigavon man pleaded guilty to stealing a portable DVD player worth £49.99 from Sainsbury’s at Rushmere Shopping Centre when he appeared at Craigavon Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
Paul John Joseph Whitla (34), of Hillcrest Manor, committed the theft on July 12 last year.
Police, who viewed the CCTV footage, recognised the defendant.
A defence solicitor said Whitla’s last dishonesty offence was in 2008.
District Judge Mervyn Bates said he would consider the option of community service, He deferred sentencing until June 13.
