Stole prescription pad from doctor's practice, court told

A Coleraine man has pleaded guilty to stealing a prescription pad from a surgery in the town.

Jason Frederick Griffiths (29), of Lodge Road, committed the offence at Mountsandel Surgery on August 11 this year.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday of last week, he pleaded guilty to charges of theft of a prescription pad belonging to Mountsandel Surgery and fraud by false representation in that he presented a prescription in his name with the intention of causing a loss to the NHS.

He also admitted possessing a Class C drug - pregabalin - on the same date.

Griffiths pleaded not guilty to burglary by entering as a trespasser, a doctor’s practice, namely Mountsandel Surgery, and stealing a number of blank prescription forms.

He was in the dock at Coleraine Magistrates Court to hear District Judge Liam McNally adjourn the case until October 17 to fix a date to contest that charge.
