Stole £6,000 from father

PRE-SENTENCE reports are to be prepared on a Ballymena man who stole £6,000 from his father.

Roger James Clark (57), of Loughmagarry Road, admitted stealing the money on dates between July 16 2009 and October 22 2009.

District Judge Robert Alcorn, sitting at Antrim Magistrates Court, asked if the money had been repayed, and questioned why the case had not gone to the Crown Court.

A lawyer for the prosecution said she had made enquiries for the same reason but that it was agreed for the case to be dealt with in the magistrates courts.

Clark's solicitor said that provisions had been made between father and son to pay back 50 a month.

The case was adjourned until October 26 for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.

Mr Alcorn warned Clark: "It's very likely that you will be going to jail."
