Stone throwers warned

POLICE in Waterside have responded to reports of stones being thrown at busses, cars and buildings in the Drumahoe, Tullyalley, Ardmore Road and Currynierin areas.

Stressing how dangerous this type of behaviour is, they said young people should not believe for one second that this is just a bit of fun or an idle way to pass time.

"In reality a stone thrown at a car or bus could shatter a window, cause the driver to lose control and potentially put the lives of passengers and other road users at serious risk. Sustained attacks on buses could result in a temporary loss of service in a particular area which damages the entire community," a PSNI spokesman said.
