Stormont urged to honour Desertcreat College commitment as report due this week

On Friday, the BBC reported that the departments of justice and health have accepted a recommendation they should go back to the drawing board.

“Only a few weeks ago I stood on the steps of Stormont with a delegation of local councillors and local people, demonstrating the strength of feeling there is towards the establishment of the training college at Desertcreat,” he said.

“We were encouraged by the very visible support from the First and Deputy First Ministers, and the Health Minister, and I hope that the commitment expressed then to the delivery of this facility in Mid Ulster, will be evident next week when the Executive considers this new report and what would appear to be some very concerning recommendations.”
