Some of the children dressed up in favourite characters helping to set the scene for this wonderful project..

Using Story Sacks help create reading opportunities that are interactive and enjoyable and provides a multisensory experience enhancing language development in a fun and exciting way. Each sack contains a fiction and a factual book along with ‘props’ such as games, puppets, CDs and small toys to help make the story come to life.

Over the next few weeks each child in the Playgroup will have the chance to take a number of sacks home where parents can participate in the fun and enjoy the benefits of shared reading time.

Happy Days are delighted to provide this additional project to enhance each child’s development as they prepare for their formal years of education.

Keeping in the theme of developing literacy skills, there was great excitement as each child was given a pack of books provided by Bookstart. This project is managed by Book Trust and funded through a public/private partnership between government and publisher partners.
