Stranocum plans face 'refusal'

PLANNERS are of the opinion to refuse plans for a dwelling house and garage 100 metres south west of 88A Gracehill Road, Stranocum.

The case is on a list of applications deferred from a previous meeting which is due to be brought to a meeting of Ballymoney Council on September 20.

The applicant is Mr I. McIlhatton.

Planners say there are no overriding reasons why the development is essential in this rural location and could not be located within a settlement.

And they say if permitted it would result in the creation of ribbon development along Gracehill Road.

Planners further say the proposed site lacks long established natural boundaries and is unable to provide a suitable degree of enclosure for the building to integrate into the landscape.

And planners say that if ribbon development is created it would result in a detrimental change to the rural character of the countryside.
