Street brief wording ‘causes concern’

COMMENTING on the wording on a Police notice issued with regard to a “Street brief which took place on Friday 27th April 2012”, Ballycastle SDLP Councillor Dónal Cunningham has echoed the views of many local people who feel that their neighbourhood has been inaccurately labelled by the wording of the notice, which suggested a problem with anti-social behaviour in the Caman area.

Residents regard Caman as a quiet residential area, and are not happy with the manner in which it was represented”

“I fully support the concept and rationale behind the PACT (Partners and Communities Together) street briefings, and the opportunities they present for residents to raise issues and to get feedback from local neighbourhood policing officers and elected representatives. All of these benefits could have been achieved with a more accurate and sensitive wording of the advertising notice.”
