Recent recipients of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the group wanted to extend its thanks to and celebrate the dozens of volunteers who facilitate the huge number of daily, weekly and monthly activities that take place in the busy, rural centre.

The festival will offer something for everyone, from live music from all-round entertainers ‘Curve’, to stilt walkers, face painting and nail art.

There will also be laser tag, balloon modelling, soccer skills, barbecue, sweetie stand and ice cream.

The event is free to all with a nominal charge for burgers, hotdogs and sweets.

According to LLTCA Volunteer Coordinator, Anne Murphy, “this street festival has been incorporated into our annual summer scheme that attracts hundreds of children and young people from the local area.

“We couldn’t deliver such a large scale scheme without the commitment and dedication of our young volunteers, and they, along with our other long serving volunteers are the reason we were nominated for and won the Queen’s Award, which is the MBE equivalent for voluntary groups.

“This festival is a massive thank you to all of them.”
