Streetreach lights up Ballymoney

THE sun was shining on Saturday as over 50 bright yellow 't-shirted' volunteers from Ballymoney Church of God gathered in the Castlecroft area with great enthusiasm to take part in their Streetreach event.

Musical instruments, sound equipment, chairs, etc. had been brought from where they are usually situated in the church to the lower part of Main Street.

A lot of planning, and hard work had obviously gone into the preparation for the afternoon of outreach.

For two hours they shared their faith through the singing of worship songs, the distribution of 500 leaflets to adults and the handing out of 250 balloons to children.

Many local people stopped to sit and enjoy the lively and inspirational singing while also enjoying some free tea, coffee and biscuits.

Passers-by commented on the vibrant activity and colour and how the event transformed the afternoon in the town.

One local trader enjoyed the singing so much that she gave the Pastors a beautiful flower arrangement for the church to use.

Many of those in yellow t-shirts took the time to chat to shoppers, sharing a little of their faith.

It was obvious the event captured the hearts of adults and children alike.

One little boy sat with his mother for the entire two hours clutching his yellow balloon and swinging his legs to the music!

If you heard the singing or received a leaflet and would like to experience or know more, then you can go along on Sundays at 11.30am or 7pm. The church is renowned for its friendly and welcoming approach. They would be delighted to see you and you are assured of a very warm welcome.
