Stroke Group invites new members

A NEW fundraising group has been set up in Banbridge in aid of Stroke Association NI.

The group is appealing for members and is ideal for anyone with a few hours to spare each month who would like to make new friends while raising vital funds for stroke survivors, their carers and families across Northern Ireland.

The Stroke Association NI would like to invite people to join this group to help brainstorm and deliver fundraising events in the Banbridge area.

Tom Richardson, Director of The Stroke Association Northern Ireland, said, “Today in Northern Ireland 12 people will have a stroke.

“Four of those people will recover, four will have permanent disabilities and four will die. Community fundraising groups are so vital to continue the work of The Stroke Association NI in supporting stroke survivors, their carers and families throughout Northern Ireland.

“By running a volunteer fundraising group in Banbridge we hope to raise money to continue supporting stroke survivors in their rehabilitation and support our plight to increase awareness of stroke prevention and intervention.”
