Student fined

Emma Connor (18), of Altananam Park, appeared at North Antrim Magistrates Court in Coleraine on Friday.

The offences came to light after she was stopped by police after doing 49mph in a 30mph zone at Drones Road, on February 11, 2010.

She failed to produce driving documents to police and said she told the court she had adopted a ‘bury her head in the sand’ attitude.

Her solicitor said she was embarrassed at being in court and had taken the day off school to attend.
