Students can chalk up work experience with Cancer Focus

Leading local charity Cancer Focus Northern Ireland is calling on Larne students and graduates to volunteer for its new secondary schools project.

The charity is recruiting for its new voluntary role of Health Education Facilitators, which involves travelling to post primary schools all over Northern Ireland to give health presentations to pupils.

Morag Chambers, volunteer services co-ordinator, said: “Cancer Focus is continually expanding its work in the local community to lower the risk of cancer and to support people who are affected by the illness.

“This new role is ideal for students with a background in health promotion and is the perfect way to boost skills and gain valuable practical experience. We would love to hear from anyone who is interested.

Volunteers are a vital and valued part of the Cancer Focus team and anyone taking on the role will be joining a dynamic and pro-active organisation. It’s a great opportunity for students to add to their CVs.”
