Students fly the flag in'¨the USA

The duo have been selected to take part in the British Council’s prestigious Study USA programme, having undergone a competitive selection process.

Daniel (20), a Law student at Queen’s University Belfast is off to Lebanon Valley College, Pennsylvania; while Jordan (21), who studies a BA in English and Linguistics, will spend the next academic year at Alverno College, Wisconsin.

Daniel, who departs for the US on August 22, can’t wait for the year ahead.

He said: “I’m very nervous about heading to America, but also really excited about what this year will hold. I’ve never been away from home for longer than a couple of weeks at a time so this is huge for me.

“I decided to do Study USA because I’ve always wanted to add an international aspect to my studies, and I know that this will be recognised by future employers in Northern Ireland as being something different from everybody else.

“I hope to make lifelong friends and experience proper American life!”
