Students on top at Wesleyan Music

STUDENT achievement at Wesleyan Music has held up during the past year, despite the economic gloom.

The entry numbers have held and the pass bands have improved.

Out of 102 entries in all examinations, 28 per cent achieved a Pass Band, 41 per cent a Merit Band and 26 per cent achieved Distinctions. Teachers are to be commended on these achievements.

Wesleyan Music continues to support the students and encourage them to publicly perform in their schools, Chapels, Churches and on stage.

In July as part of the Musical Outreach Policy, they hope to welcome Cillian and his Mid Ulster Music and Drama Group to The Wesleyan Hall.

Currently they are supporting four organists. Dr Drummond remarked to Dr Stott, during his organ examination, that the last time he examined an organ student was 20 years ago in Australia!
