Students Outreach and Gospel Mission

THE Free Presbyterian Church has been preaching the Gospel message in the Ballymoney area for almost six decades.

Next year the Church will celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The congregation was formed in June 1951 in Cabra, and moved to its present location in the town in 1972. Four years ago, on 16th June, the new building was officially opened by Dr. Ian Paisley.

A special Gospel Mission is being held with Dr. William McCrea as the guest speaker. This commences on Sunday 19th September. Dr. McCrea is the minister of Calvary Free Presbyterian Church in Magherafelt. He is also a well known Gospel singer and has conducted many successful Evangelistic Campaigns throughout the Province and further afield.

Dr. McCrea is looking forward to the Mission and, together with the minister, Rev. David Park, extends a very warm invitation to the people of Ballymoney to attend the meetings each night.

In preparation for the Mission, five students from the Whitefield College of the Bible conducted outreach in the town, visiting door to door, in their endeavours to spread the message of the Gospel. This outreach work is part of their College training which takes place during the months of August and September when they go to various locations for several weeks.

Last Saturday 10 open air services were conducted, starting in Dunaghy in the morning and finishing in Portstewart later that evening. The five students and members of Hebron Free Presbyterian Church conducted these meetings under the leadership of Home Mission Evangelist, Mark Telford.
