Students top of the class at golf event

ST Mary's High School were definitely top of the class at the Tavistock Cup competition held at Lurgan Golf Club.

The competition is organised by the Darren Clarke Schools Golf League and aims to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Over 70 girls from all over the province participated in this inaugural competition which was won by the team from St Mary’s High School who are all members of Lurgan Golf Club.

The team members were Niamh Ward, Anna Hamilton, Niamh McSherry and Eadaoin Ward. The best three scores counted and the girls came in with fantastic top scores of 41pts, 33pts and 31pts.

There was also a nine hole competition and this was won by another local girl, Meabh McGrady- St Mary’s High School and Lurgan Golf Club.
