Success for aspiring chef

AN aspiring Lisburn chef has proved his passion for food by completing a catering course in super fast time.

Stephen Ferris, 21, recently graduated from SERC Lisburn campus with an NVQ level three in professional cookery. This course usually lasts two years but through his progress as a chef and the training provided by the college, Stephen completed it in one academic year.

Stephen said: “The Principal and Chief Executive of SERC, Ken Webb, and the tutors were full of praise for the progress that I have made and the success I am achieving.”

Stephen added: “I have been able to put this training into good use as for the same year I have been Demi Chef De Partie at the BallyRobin Country Lodge near the International Airport. This training and experimentation with new recipes and old, allows me to keep the artistic element in the profession I enjoy so much.”
