Success for Cushendall B&B

The winners of the 2014 Translink Ulster in Bloom Competition have been officially recognised at a special awards ceremony in Malone House, Belfast.

2014 marked the 36th year of the Translink Ulster in Bloom Competition which is co-ordinated by the Northern Ireland Local Government Association.

The ‘Most Improved’ title went jointly to Gracehill and Limavady and the ‘Roses in Towns’ award winner is Lisburn City. Special Award winners are: Antrim Borough Council and Castlereagh Borough Council in recognition of efforts to support biodiversity along with The Riverside Bed & Breakfast - Cushendall, Edenvilla Park & Secret Garden - Portadown and The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn for their outstanding plant/floral presentations.

The Best Station title was scooped by Ballymoney Train Station and the Community Rail Halt Award went to Brighter Whitehead Community for their work at Whitehead Train Station.

Cllr Evelyne Robinson, NIGA, said: “The competition gives us great drive, and the opportunity to support our citizens in making Northern Ireland a better places in which to live. To the winners we say thank you for leading by example, and congratulations for your achievements.”
