Success honoured at Banbridge and District business awards

The successes of businessmen and women from the Banbridge area were highlighted at the third Banbridge and Dromore Leader Business Awards event last week.

The black tie gala awards ceremony, held at the Belmont Hotel on Thursday night, honoured the great and the good of industry throughout the district.

The awards are aimed at recognising the talent, entrepreneurship and excellence that exists across the full range of business and commerce in the area.

The theme ‘From Flax to the Future’ paid homage to the long history of individual and collective industry upon which local towns have taken root and flourished and the companies which carry on that tradition today.

The big award-winner on the night was well-known butcher, farmer, cafe owner and food and farming entrepreneur, Mr. Jim Quail.

He collected the Lifetime Achievement award jointly sponsored by Banbridge Chamber of Commerce and William Bell & Co Funeral Directors.

The twelve award categories covered all aspects of business and industry,

Best Business Community Impact Award winner was Iveagh Movie Studios.

The Excellence in Tourism Award went to Golfkeel Cottages.

The Excellence in Agriculture winner was Moorfield Flowers. Readers Favourite Café/Takeaway winner was Riverside Tearoom.

Readers Favourite Restaurant winner was Boyle’s Bar of Dromore. Best Entrepreneur winner was Rolltack Ltd.

Excellence in People Development award went to Calvin Klein Underwear.

Best Customer Service Award voted for by readers of the Leader was won by Bella Bambinos. Best Outlet Business winner was Linenhill Kitchen & Deli. Best Export Business award went to EOS IT.
