Successful year at Fort Hill College

The Principal of Fort Hill College believes the school has had its most successful year ever.

Mrs Marian Getty said: “The A level students had set the bar high as we nervously awaited the GCSE results.

“Elation is the word on my lips as I look at the results. It is early days yet and we are still working out the final statistics but at present we look to be hitting the most successful year ever in the history of the school.”

She continued: “The number of subject areas where students have achieved A* and A grades has increased, all students have achieved success and all have achieved greater levels of success than ever before.

“Top students are sitting with 100% A*-B and this is to be celebrated. The number of students achieving seven plus GCSEs at A*-C is also at its highest ever. It is indeed a memorable day for staff students and parents at FHC.”

Mrs Getty added: “As always I look at the individuals and I am so pleased with and for the students who have exceeded their personal targets, and they are in the majority. To those who say exams are getting easier, I would disagree. I would hate to be a young person in the current system and I applaud each of our young people, their teachers and parents for their wonderful and hard earned successes.”
