Summer of jazz at the Alley

This year they have some wonderful guests joining them including a regular at the Londonderry Jazz & Big Band Festival sax player Jim McDermott.

Jim has performed with everyone from the Dave Glover Showband to Van Morrison and is currently a member of Espresso Jazz.

Also joining Jim and the rest of Jazz Gazette will be Triona Sweeney and Joan Talbot on separate nights.

Gerard Bradley from Jazz Gazette commented: “We are delighted to be welcoming Jim into Jazz Gazette for our summer sessions at the Alley.

“Audiences from the City of Derry Jazz Festival will have seen Jim perform in many of the venues over the festival and I know he is looking forward to performing in Strabane.

“On vocals Joan Talbot will be joining us on the July 25 and Triona Sweeney will be with us on the 1st August.

“This year we will be performing in the cabaret style auditorium offering the audiences a more relaxed atmosphere with a superb sound, expect a mix of jazz and blues numbers with some surprises thrown in.

“So come and join us every Friday night at 8.30pm and enjoy listening to these wonderful musicians in action, or if you are a musician/singer come along and jamm with us.’”
