Summer scheme fun at Jordanstown School

Children and young people with a range of visual and hearing impairments enjoyed a packed programme of activities at Jordanstown School’s annual summer scheme.

Organised by teacher Frances Stroud, the programme included arts and crafts (making bird houses and feeders, photo frames, badge making, jewellery making and mosaics ) and cooking (French pizzas, cupcakes and smoothies).

The three-day summer scheme also included football coaching sessions with former Northern Ireland international Mal Donaghy.

The pupils hailed the successful summer scheme “awesome”, and school principal Anne Magee said it was “an all round success for pupils, parents and volunteer staff.”

It’s understood that plans are already being drawn up to extend next year’s programme of summer fun at the school.
