Summer splash of colour from Coleraine Art Society

THE WALLS at Flowerfield will be filled with colour through the summer as the gallery welcomes the annual Summer Exhibition from Coleraine Art Society, opening on Monday, July 9 and running until Saturday, July 28.

Acclaimed wildlife artist Julian Friers RUA will do the honours and officially open the exhibition during a special preview evening on Tuesday, 10 July at 7pm.

An invitation is extended to the public to come along, view the paintings and share a glass of wine on that evening.

The exhibition features paintings by the members of the Art Society working in various media: oil, watercolour, acrylics and so on. Many of the paintings will also be for sale, and it’s always a good opportunity to pick up a well-priced piece of original artwork.

Coleraine Art Society was founded over 50 years ago, and its members are keen amateurartists or people who are interested in visualart. The group meets at Flowerfield Arts Centre once a month, usually the second Wednesday, from September to April.

On these evenings members get to hear talks or watch painting demonstrations given by known or professional artists. The exhibition is on show to the public in the Main Gallery at Flowerfield from Monday 9 - 28 July (excluding 12 & 13 July when the Centre will close for the Twelfth Holidays).

The gallery is open from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, and on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm. Admission is free. For more information, get in touch with Flowerfield Arts Centre on (028) 7083 1400.
