After receiving complaints about the conditions of a walkway linking Sunningdale Crescent and Pinewood Avenue, volunteers worked through heavy rain to clear the space.

Councillor Noel Jordan commented: “It’s like a breath of fresh air to see members of the community coming together who want to take pride in their areas and want to lead by example.

“The work and effort that this group of people carried out in terrible conditions proves what can be accomplished when neighbours and people from different areas come together on a common goal.

“Can I also thank the borough council and staff for their contribution and assistance. I walked away from that area with a feeling of pride and a massive smile. Very well done to all involved.”
