Super cyclists raise more than £10k for Marie Curie

Two Ballycastle men who cycled across Ireland for Marie Curie have raised over £10,000.

Peter Dallat and George McBride completed the Malin Head to Mizen Head charity cycle last month, marking the end of their epic fundraising campaign which included bag packs, quiz night and raffles.

Peter and George, whose fundraising total came to £10,291.57, have said they want to thank those who helped with the bag packs in the Co-op, Eurospar, and B&M in Andersonstown, and the shops for allowing these to take place.

Thanks also thanked The Central Bar, O’Connors and McClafferty’s for the use of their premises for the quiz and poker nights, Owen Kennedy from Ballycastle Golf Club who organised the charity golf day and the sponsors of the 18 holes, Ballycastle Cycling Club for the charity cycle, ticket sellers for the raffles and Ballycastle Man Utd Supporters Club for the very generous donation of a signed United shirt.

They are also grateful to the people who donated in person or to the two Just Giving pages, the Moyle branch of Marie Curie, especially Briege & Winnie for their support and anyone who helped in any way to make the venture such a great success.
