Supermarket in Cookstown cut cost of fuel

MOTORISTS in Cookstown will see the cost of a tank of fuel drop slightly, thanks to an announcement of petrol price cuts.

The major UK supermarkets, which include the Cookstown branches of Asda and Tesco, has reduced its unleaded prices by up to 2p per litre,

Just recently the supermarkets cut diesel prices on the forecourt by up to 2p per litre.

Falls in wholesale prices and a more favourable exchange rate are thought to be behind the reduction, the AA motoring group has said.

A rise in fuel duty scheduled for September was cancelled by Chancellor George Osborne in his Budget last month.
