Upon hearing of the limited resources her friends, on the frontline of the nation’s battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, are working with, Caoimhe Lynch set out to do what she could.

The industrious young woman has, like others across the country, turned her hand to making scrubs for healthcare workers.

Caoimhe said: “I decided to start making these scrubs after I saw comments from friends of mine who are healthcare workers saying they had no scrubs and things like that.

“My mother is a dress maker so we have the machines and that sort of stuff at home, so we thought we would try our best and make some scrubs for them.

“The response from the people of Moy has been really fantastic.

“They have donated materials, as has Celia Birt from Tailored Image in the Linen Green.

“Everyone has been really generous and it is great to see how everyone is trying to play their part and do what we can.”

Caoimhe also expressed her appreciation for those on the frontline.

“I would just like to thank the doctors and nurses and the care workers and those who are on the frontline for doing everything they are doing,” she said.

“This whole situation is scary for all of us but where would be without all the medical staff on the frontline?”

A Portadown Tattooist has also been appealing for supplies to help frontline health workers - clearing out his studio of gloves and sanitising products and asking his suppliers to help.
