Hide AdColeraine CRS has launched a local fundraising project to raise £100k to replace a rib inflatable boat for use by its volunteer crews in Coleraine, Portrush, Portstewart, Garvagh, Ballymoney, Limavady and Ballymena,
Calling for public support, CRS Commander Sean McCarry, told The Coleraine Times: “We’re aiming to replace one of the three boats we have in Coleraine which is 20 years old.
“We have identified a rib inflatable boat from Marine Specialised Technology (MST) in Liverpool and it will cost us £100,000 to buy it and fit it out.
“The boat we have at the minute measures 5.4 metres but the new one is bigger at 7.5 metres with a flatter tier design which will allow us to go into shallow water and not damage the boat.
