Support the Hospice this end of term

A spokeswoman for the Glengormley-based Children’s Hospice explained: “Although traditional gifts such as chocolates are a kind gesture of pupils’ appreciation, it is well known that many of these gifts will be unwanted and go unused.

“So why not consider making a discretionary donation to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice instead?

“Not only will your support make a real difference to the lives of local life limited children, but you will teach your own children about the importance of helping others - helping children who need round-the-clock care and who are often too ill to attend school at all.”

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice is a unique local charity which provides specialist nursing care and end of life care to 250 local children and young people who have life limiting and life threatening illnesses.

It costs the organisation £3million a year to run such a specialist service and the Hospice relies heavily on voluntary donations from the local community.
