Surprise for local customers as Shrek visits SPAR The Rosses

THE SPAR at The Rosses, on Tullygarley Road, this week had a very special visitor Shrek himself arrived from 'Far-far away' to the area, to meet and greet the young (and the young at heart) for a bit of fun, all as part of the promotion of the new Shrek movie and the Shrek Soft Toy promotion, running in the store now.

Delighting the locals, the Ogre himself spent time posing for photos with his fans, taking care to be gentle as the children in the Ballymena area are a lot smaller than the Ogre children he is used to in ‘far-far-away!’ Customers enjoyed face painting and balloon modelling as part of the entertainment and tasty treats provided by the store.

Lisa Martin, store manager said: “The visit from Shrek was a great event in store and the locals and their children really enjoyed it. We had a great buzz instore in the run up to the event as it’s no often someone so famous would pop in here.

“There were a lot of excited faces around which was lovely to see, and everyone was getting really excited about our instore promotion.

“With the launch of the Shrek Movie, ‘Shrek Forever after,’ we are delighted to be able to offer customers this special saving on the fantastic range of soft toys of the four most popular characters from the family friendly movie.”

Running in conjunction with the final Shrek Movie, ‘Shrek Forever After’, the local SPAR is offering customers the chance to collect stamps when they spend 5 in-store, and once they collect six stamps on their Shrek Saver Card, available in-store, they are eligible to redeem for a Shrek soft toy from the collection of four including Shrek himself, his unwitting sidekick, Donkey, Puss and Gingy; for only 3.99 each, (RRP 9.99 each).

This offer runs until September 5, with customers still being able to redeem their saver cards until the September 12, so that gives plenty of time to collect and save for all four in the set.
