Suspect in Larne attack was carrying claw hammer

Police have launched an investigation after a man was attacked in Larne’s Craigyhill estate.

The attack took place on Tuesday, December 22 at around 2.15am in the communal area of the flats at Ballycraigy Ring.

Appealing for information on the PSNI Larne Facebook page, a police spokesperson said the suspect had been carrying a claw hammer.

The post stated: “There is thought to have been one attacker, who was dressed in dark clothing and had their face covered by a balaclava or a hood.

“Did you see anyone in dark clothing running in the area at the time?

“Did you see anyone carrying a hammer? If you did, did the suspect use a vehicle?

“If you can provide information, please contact police on 101 (ref no 90 22/12/15) or Crimestoppers on 0800555111,” the spokesperson added.
