The court heard that police went to the defendant’s home after a third party had reported that a row was going on in the house.

They spoke to the defendant’s partner who said that everything was okay that she and the defendant had just been rowing.

Doran then was verbally abusive to police saying ‘f—k off you scumbags’ and ‘go and f—k, I’ve got guns scum’.

He struggled with police but later calmed down before becoming aggressive again.

A barrister representing Doran said a neighbour had called the police.

She explained that the two children were with his partner’s mother and his partner was working so Doran had a day to himself. When the defendant’s partner returned she found he had spent the day drinking and watching football. She was annoyed and there was a row.
