Mt Peter Murphy, representing the defendant, said McCartney was trying to sell the car and stupidly decided to drive it.
District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said the defendant not only broke a court order telling him not to drive for a year but he also showed contempt for the order.
He added that he knew McCartney was trying to sell the car but he should have got someone to come and look at it or get someone who could legally drive to take it.
