Suspicious approach made to boy in Cookstown

Police in Cookstown are investigating a report of a suspicious approach to a teenage boy, last week.

Constable Fra McIlduff said: “At around 4pm on May 7th, it was reported that a teenage boy was walking in the Union Street area of Cookstown when a man in a white Caddy van stopped and asked if he wanted a lift, when the teenager declined the van travelled towards Coagh.

“The driver is described as in his 40’s with rough dark hair and wearing glasses. Police would like to speak to anyone who can help with their enquiries.

“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 7737515. Alternatively information about crime can be passed via the independent Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.”
