Swann expresses sympathy at death of Dr Paisley

Mr Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assembly member and Chairman of the Stormont Employment and Learning Committee, has extended his profound sympathies to the Paisley family circle on the death of Rev Dr Ian Paisley, the former MP and MLA for North Antrim.

Assemblyman Swann, who is also UUP Chief Whip, added: “On behalf of myself as a North Antrim MLA and Chairman of the North Antrim UUP Association, I extend my profound sympathies to the Paisley family circle on the death of Rev Dr Ian Paisley.

“Whatever our differences within the Unionist family over statements or decisions which Dr Paisley said or took, as a community, we must always remember that there is a grieving family circle at this time.

“There can be no doubt that Dr Paisley will be remembered as one of the colossal figures of Unionism

“I personally remember him as a very dedicated constituency representative and was also an eloquent preacher of the Christian Gospel.”
