Swann hosts event to tackle Single Farm Payments

Robin Swann, the North Antrim Ulster Unionist Party Assembly Member and Chairman of the Stormont Committee for Employment and Learning is hosting a public meeting to assist the farming community to tackle the problems and issues associated with Single Farm Payments.

Mr Swann, who is also North Antrim UUP Chairman and Party Chief Whip, said: “This public meeting for farmers is being organised because so many are having difficulties with Single Farm Payments. Over the past few weeks, my constituency office has been inundated with appeals from farmers for help.

“The problem which has arisen is that a large section of the Bann valley area was subject to an aerial inspection and from my information there is a major problem within the Department matching aerial photographs with current maps.

“To that extent I have organised a public meeting in Glarryford Farmers Hall on Wednesday 29th January at 8pm, which will be chaired by my Party colleague and fellow MLA Jo-Anne Dobson and we will have senior Department of Agriculture officials in attendance.”
