Swann seeks funds boost for Childline

Local MLA Robin Swann has called on the Stormont Executive 'to dig deep and find the budget to boost the services of Childline in Northern Ireland'.

The UUP Assemblyman issued his appeal after attending a special event at Parliament Buildings with Dame Esther Rantzen, the founder and president of Childline, to support 30 years of Childline.

ChildLine has helped over four million children since being launched in 1986.

Mr Swann said: “It was an honour and privilege to attend the Childline event. I highly commend the work which Childline has done over the past 30 years. It is a great work which the organization does, but unfortunately it is very necessary work. This is why I am urging the Stormont Executive to dig deep into their budgets to see if additional cash can be found.”
