Swann voices fears over Pinewood
Robin Swann has warned that a proposal to change Pinewood residential care home in Ballymena to a community rehabilitation unit may have more to do with making financial savings rather than doing what is best for people in the town and its surrounding area.
The Ulster Unionist MLA said: “While I am glad that it appears some services are likely to be kept on the site, I am concerned with the further withdrawal of residential places in North Antrim.
“I fear this will only make it more difficult for elderly people to remain close to their home and families,” he said.
