Swann welcomes '˜assurances' over Bushmills road issue
North Antrim MLA Robin Swann has received the assurances from TransportNI about the popular tourist location.
The Ulster Unionist Assemblyman said: “I had contacted TransportNI and raised a road safety issue at the distillery with an increased number of tourists crossing the road to the Spar, and asked if a safety assessment could be carried out at this point.”

“An Initial Site Survey and Preliminary Assessment will be undertaken to ascertain whether a full assessment is required.
“This initial assessment will include carrying out a pedestrian/cycle/vehicle survey on Main Street in the vicinity of the Spar. I will get back to you with the outcome of the survey.”
Welcoming the response from the department, Assemblyman Swann added: “I am pleased these situations are moving forward and the roads around Bushmills, especially the ones I have mentioned, will be made safer for all to use.”
