Minister Kennedy outlined the significant resurfacing scheme on the B93 Dunminning Road, Cullybackey.

The scheme will provide 2.7 kilometres of new road surface from the B64 Station Road, Glarryford to the C58 Duneoin Road, Cullybackey.

The Minister said: “This scheme will improve the condition of this road which will serve as an alternative route during the construction of the A26 Frosses Road Dualling project.”

Mr Swann added: “It is of vital importance that the roads around the A26 are kept in first rate condition while work on this dangerous part of the A26 is completed.

“Hopefully, when all the work is finished, the A26 will at long last lose its sad reputation as being one of the most notorious accident blackspots, not just in North Antrim, but across Northern Ireland.”
