Swann welcomes move on Community Centre

UUP MLA Robin Swann has “warmly welcomed” moves by Ballymena Borough Council to invest £250,000 in a community centre for Kells and Connor.

The Assemblyman said councillors had made provision within their three-year rolling Capital Programme for refurbishment work and said the investment would provide “tremendous opportunities for the local communities”.

He added: “I was told Council Officers are currently in the process of developing the Business Case as required by the Council’s governance process for presentation to Council in the near future.

“The Community Centre has a pivotal role in maintaining community spirit in the locality. This is why Council investment in the centre is so vital.

“This is a very welcome move and the Council is to be congratulated on its very positive steps to provide such a valuable resource for the Kells and Connor communities,” said Assemblyman Swann.
