“I was originaly a graffiti artist, a stylistic trait which is still evident in my work.

“During this period my work was mainly studies of graffiti styles, landscapes and Volkswagen Camper Vans.

“My Foundation in Art was achieved at Limavady College of Further Education and I studied at Belfast Art College where I gained a BA/Hons in Fine Art and Painting.

Marty explained: “My work has now taken a change in direction and mainly features children caught in a candid way, getting on with their everyday lives.

“I feel that my style is perfectly suited to the way a child lives with no responabilities, worries or stress.

“I unite a use of vivid colour to my own individual style and my current work reflects children’s dreams and nightmares which range from the surreal and unsettling to the quirky and funny.”

Get along to Marty’s exhibition which begins on Friday and runs the whole month of August.
