The court heard that a road traffic collision happened on the Old Portadown Road at the junction with Gilpinstown.

The defendant and four passengers had been conveyed to hospital.

O’Dowd had been driving at speed as he approached a stationary vehicle. He had to take evasive action to avoid a collision and went onto the wrong side of the road where he collided with another car.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said O’Dowd had come out of the Taghnevan estate.

He added that thankfully the injuries were not as bad as they could have been.
