Swing through the trees for less at Moneymore’s Jungle this weekend

As the birds flock back from where-ever they’ve been, evenings begin to lengthen, the sun shows up and thoughts turn to things to do ‘when the good weather comes in’ - the Mid Ulster Mail has been busy swinging through trees in Moneymore’s Jungle, so we could tell you what it’s like.

And we are happy to report, that if you have a Saturday spare and a thirst for adventure, there are few more good, clean, fun ways that you could spend the day, as long as you (unlike our editor) don’t mind heights. And he did better than I did!

But what’s even better, is that - for this Saturday only - a number of outdoor adventure centres are offering adrenalin junkies the chance to try some outdoor activities as part of NI Adventureland Weekend.

So for a fraction of the usual price you could take on the Tarzan Treetops Challenge at the Jungle, try out the mountain biking trails in Davagh Forest, forage for and cook your own food near Cookstown or feel what it’s like to fly on Todd’s Leap zip line near Ballygawley.

With the £10 or 50 per cent off price tag on the activities this Saturday, there is no reason not to give something a go.

None of the events require any previous experience and some are even suitable for children (check first) as young as three so there is literally something for the whole family, couples or groups of friends to enjoy.

The Tarzan Treetops challenge took around two hours to finish, with a zip-line (I loved it) and a grand finale, that I won’t ruin for you thrown in.

And, if you’re not feeling all that adventurous, you could always just walk a llama - yes, they really do that.
