Hundreds of residents came through the gates and enjoyed the activities that had been organised by the group, donating over £200 to the group’s chosen charity, AA Veterans Support.

Attractions included the fabulous Phil’s Farm, who brought a wide array of animals to the event, Face painters, bouncy castles, vehicles from AAVS and the PSNI, a BBQ and the sound of Ulster Scots music all helped make this the success that it was.

The group were also honoured to have a few Syrian families attend this event.

These families are refugees who had to flee persecution in their own country. It is hoped that they enjoyed the day and that they left the event feeling welcomed into the area but more importantly safe.

The group thank the following for their support. ABC Borough Council, Fitness Factory, Carla Lockhart MLA, Don Corkin, Cllr Philip Moutray, Irwins Bakery, David Simpson MP, Parkgate Service Station, AAVS, Phil’s Farm, PSNI, Happy Dayz and last but not least the staff of the Community Centre.

The group hopes that everyone enjoyed the events on the day and they ask that residents check the group’s Facebook page for details of future events.
