Take a Lambeth Walk with Lisnagarvey Operatic

If you feel like taking a stroll down the ‘Lambeth Walk’ or take a moment ‘Leaning on a Lamp Post’ while you wait to see if ‘The Sun Has Got His Hat On’, then the Island Hall is the place to be, for that is where Lisnagarvey Operatic Society will be staging all these foot tapping songs when they present the hit musical Me & My Girl from April 8 until April 12.

The Society had the honour of staging the Northern Ireland première of the show in the Arts Theatre Belfast in 1997 and they are delighted to be bringing it back to Lisburn.

Andrew Scott steps into the lead role of the cheeky cockney Bill Snibson, while Gillian McQuade reprises the role of his girlfriend Sally.

Other leading parts are played by ‘Garvey stalwarts Vivian Shepherd, Tim Pentland, Claire Cranston, Dessie Martin and Colin Gregg.

The Society is also delighted to welcome back Colin Boyd in a leading role following his recent outstanding performances as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol and Vandergelder in Hello Dolly in the Grand Opera House.

Rehearsals are now in full swing for the show directed by Wilfie Pyper with Ian Milford in charge of the musical direction and with choreography by Angela Harding.

The show, funded by the lottery and the Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee, runs from April 8 to April 12 in the Islsand Hall.
